Professional development and growth of your team is a great feeling for any organization. But there can be growing pains too. As the organization evolves, people may be moved quickly into roles that they didn’t anticipate or weren’t totally prepared to manage. For a national pharmaceutical client, Compass assessed, designed and implemented a cross-company leadership transition and training series that targeted not only interpersonal skills of leaders, but also core management skills. The 10-series session assessed skills both before and after the training.
The series had a blend of ‘what to do if’ and ‘how to do this’ (from both a legal and interpersonal perspective), as well as crucial human resource processes (performance management, compensation) to provide the new supervisors, managers and directors the skills sets to motivate and lead the growth of the organization. The entire process was then linked to the organization’s internal university of succession planning and workforce development.
